El Paso could actively recruit peace organizations such as the World Peace Initiative, the Amala Foundation, the Universal Peace Foundation, among many others, to host conferences and summits here in the Borderland. El Paso could utilize public venues such as the proposed $180 million downtown multipurpose facility to offer world-class meeting capabilities for this noble effort.

  1. Yes, these Peace conferences could educate the public. Many people have no idea the number of wars the US is involved in currently. Nor do most understand the affect of these wars on our communities. The Coalition Against US Foreign Bases, Code Pink, Veterans for Peace and World Beyond War are a few more of the other groups mentioned.
